How To Fix your iPhone when it Freezes

We've all been there: you're checking something on your favorite website, or maybe you're listening to your favorite iTunes playlist, when all of a sudden your iPhone stops working. The screen no longer responds to your touch, and maybe it goes completely black. While such problems are common to all iPhones, there are certain things you can do to prevent and fix annoying interruptions of this kind.

Protect your phone from extreme temperatures.

Extreme temperatures and temperature shifts are likely to result in malfunctions. Your iPhone might alter its functional behavior to regulate its internal temperature which can result in various glitches, from a reduced battery life to any number of issues. Being aware of this fact can help you improve your phone's responsiveness. Here are a few things to keep in mind Use your iPhone in acceptable temperatures: between 32 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit (or, between 0 and 32 degrees Celsius).
Store your iPhone in temperatures between -4 and 113 degrees Fahrenheit (or, between -20 and 45 degrees Celsius).
Don't leave your phone in a parked car when it's very warm to hot outside.
Don't expose your phone to direct sunlight for an extended period of time.

Check your phone's memory

Try not to use up every last bit of memory your device has. Leaving your iPhone with a little breathing room can increase your phone's performance
A golden rule  is to leave your phone about 250MB of free memory space. To check how much remaining memory you have, go to the bottom of your iPhone's Summary tab in iTunes.
Try not to overload your iphone with downloads. For example: say you're checking your e-mails on your phone and decide to download 100 messages. This action will most likely cause trouble, and your iPhone may freeze or even crash. Especially if you attempt to open Safari simultaneously.

Back up your iPhone

If you want the ability to keep your information safe and hold on to a certain amount of free memory space, backing up your phone is crucial because it allows you to remove information from your device. This step is also important before performing an update on your phone, as there's always a chance of things going awry.
Back-up with iCloud. Use iCloud if you want to back up your device wirelessly and automatically, and if you don't frequently connect your iPhone to your Mac or PC. If you're already using iCloud, no further action is needed as it backs up your information automatically. To turn on iCloud:
Tap Settings > iCloud > Backup.
If you're using iphone OS 7 or earlier, tap Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
Then, click iCloud Backup to turn it on.
Finally, click on Back Up Now.

Back-up with iTunes

This is a good option if you frequently use the computer that contains your iTunes back up, or if you simply do not want to use iCloud. You can also use iTunes in conjunction with iCloud for extra safety. To back up with iTunes:
Connect your iPhone to your computer
Choose File > Devices > Back up.

Update your iPhone OS

Even if you aren't experiencing any problems with your iphone, it's always a good idea to keep its software up-to-date. Updates to your iphone include automatic fixes to resolve any phone issues (for example, a battery that drains too quickly)as well as new features. If your phone does have bugs, this is the ultimate way to resolve and prevent any hitches
Update your iPhone wirelessly. This is probably the simplest way to perform an update. Here's how to do it.
Connect your iPhone to a power source.
Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
Click on Download and Install.
Click on Install.
Update your iPhone using iTunes. If you'd rather use iTunes, here are some easy steps to perform an update.
Connect your phone to your computer.
Once you're in iTunes, select your iPhone.
Go to the Summary pane, and tap Check for Update.
Tap Download and Update. Keep in mind that the back up won't work unless you have enough free memory space.

Fixing your iPhone when it Freezes

Un-freeze the screen. Your phone may suddenly stop sensing your touchscreen instructions while you're using it. Your device might even go completely black, and appear to be turned off. Try the following tips
Press the Home button. This will, in some cases, resolve the issue. You'll be directed back to the home screen and can go back to using your device.
If just tapping the Home button doesn't work, try holding it for approx. 6 seconds. This action works in many cases, and if it does in yours, you'll be shot back to the home screen with everything working properly.
Restart your device. Sometimes, restarting your iPhone is the most effective way to restore it to normal functions.
Press and hold the physical Wake/Sleep button on top of you phone until the red power-off slider appears. Move the slider to power off your phone.
Press and hold Wake/Sleep button again until the Apple logo appears on the screen. It might take a few seconds for your phone to power on completely. Once it's on, you should see the home screen and be able to use your device normally.
Forcefully restart your iPhone. In some cases, your device might be a bit more tangled up. In such cases, a force-restart is the best option
Press and hold the Home button and physical Wake/Sleep button simultaneously for about 10 seconds. The device should power on and take you to the home screen. You can now use your iPhone normally.

How to use auto-correct on iPhone and iPad

It is now very easy to work with texts on your apple devices, all you have to do is touch, hold and explore.Spelling mistakes, missing words, auto-correct malfunctions, and even using the wrong words can really screw up your communication. No one expects you to be perfect the first time you do anything, including typing a sentence. Apple has made it super easy to edit any text you have typed, which means you shouldn't have to stress too much when it comes to typing anything on your phone.
Whether it's text messages to friends or important thoughts in the Notes app, editing can be done with ease, and multiple different ways.

How to use spelling correction on  iPhone and iPad

Simple spelling mistakes are very quick to find and fix. Whenever you spell something wrong you will notice a red-dotted line will appear below the misspelled word and you can fix them with just a few simple taps.
  1.     Tap on the misspelled word. It will have a red-dotted line underneath it.
  2.    Tap on the correct spelling of the word that appears above.
NB-No suggested spelling will be displayed if the word is misspelled so badly that it can't identify what the correct spelling should be.

How to use auto-correct on iPhone and iPad

The auto-correction feature can be a little tricky. The point of auto-correct is to be able to fix spelling mistakes as they come up rather than after you have typed everything out. It can be really fun if used correctly.

  1.            Start typing words.
  2.          As you spell something wrong, auto-correct will show you the word it will replace it with.
  3.        Tap on the spacebar and just keep typing.
Auto-correct will just automatically swap the words out.

How to undo auto-correct on iPhone and iPad

The auto-correct feature is a ruthless robot and won't recognize the difference between slang and a misspelled word. You can always override the auto-correct feature in instances where you want to keep the word you typed.

  • Start typing words.
  • As you spell something wrong, auto-correct will show you the word it will replace it with.
  • Tap on the auto-corrected word to dismiss auto-correct feature.
  • Keep on typing

How to turn off the auto-correct on iPhone and iPad

Auto-Correct can be annoying at times. If your fingers move too fast,auto-correct feature may change way too much. And, instead of having just a few spelling errors on your screen, you have a whole new sentence - or even paragraph - that doesn't make any sense. If it's getting too annoying for you, you can simply just turn it off.
  • Launch the Settings app from your Home screen.
  • Tap on General.
  • Tap on Keyboard

turn off auto-correct on iphone or ipad

  • Tap on the on/off switch next to Auto-Correction.

                    auto correct on/off switch
Now that the auto-correct robot is deactivated, you can turn it on again by repeating the above steps.

How to Identify a Song on Any Smartphone, PC, or Tablet

Before now to Identify a song playing on the TV,radio, or in a movie, our best bet was to hope our friends knew it or try to listen to the lyrics and search for them. Now, you can just have your phone, tablet, or PC listen to it to get the song details
Apps like Shazam, Siri, Google Now, and Cortana can all do this.

iPhone and iPad : SIRI
siri voice search
Press and hold the iPhone’s physical “Home” button to open Siri.
You will hear two quick beeps to tell you that Siri has woken up and is waiting to do your bidding.
Once Siri has opened,  ask a question or ask Siri to perform a task such as emailing or texting. Siri will automatically detect when you have stopped speaking, but you can optionally press the microphone icon to show you have finished speaking.
If you requested Siri to do something such as send an email or text, Siri will show you a draft of the proposed message before it is sent.  To send the message,  say “send” or touch the “send” button.

Android: GOOGLE NOW
google now voice search
Google built this into the Google search app on Android. Arguably part of Google Now, this is one of the many “OK Google” voice commands you can use on Android.
To use it, you can just say “OK Google, what is this song?” if you have the OK Google hotword enabled anywhere. Or, tap the microphone on the search bar at the top of your home screen and say “What is this song?” Google also offers an “Okay Google, Shazam this song” shortcut if you have the Shazam app installed — that will immediately open the Shazam app instead of using Google’s own song-identification feature.

Windows 10 : CORTANA
cortana voice search
Cortana is your clever new personal assistant.
Cortana will help you find things on your PC, manage your calendar, track packages, find files, chat with you, and tell jokes. The more you use Cortana, the more personalized your experience will be.
To get started, type a question in the search box on the taskbar. Or select the microphone icon and talk to Cortana. (Typing works for all types of PCs, but you need a mic to talk.)

Mac OS X : SHAZAM
shazam voice search
Shazam, the app that tells you the name of whatever song is playing in the background,Apple hasn’t yet made Siri part of Mac OS X, so you can’t use Siri to do this on a Mac like you can use Cortana to do this on a Windows 10 PC. However, Shazam has made a free version of its song-identification app available for Mac users. You can download Shazam for Mac from the Mac App Store.
Interestingly, the app runs automatically in the background, listening to songs playing nearby and building up a list of songs you’ve heard playing nearby. You can wonder “what were those songs playing earlier?” and scroll through a list of them if your Mac was turned on at the time you were hearing them.
This also will pick up music playing on your Mac, assuming you’re playing it from your Mac’s speakers and its microphone can hear it.

Windows 7, Linux, Chrome OS, and  Anything With a Web Browser
midomi voice search
Midomi is a web-based tool provided by a SoundHound, a Shazam competitor. This is the closest thing there is a to a web-based version of Shazam.
This tool instructs you to “sing or hum” a particular song, but you don’t have to do that. Play the actual song for your computer’s microphone to hear and it will identify the song.
As with the above tools, this can pick up audio coming out of your computer’s speakers, too. You can use it to identify a song playing on your computer itself.

Obviously, this trick depends on matching a recorded song playing to a fingerprint of that recorded song in a database somewhere. It generally won’t work with songs being played live. If you can hear some of the lyrics, just plugging them into Google or another search engine often works wonders. Try enclosing them in quotes to find pages containing just those specific phrases. You’ll hopefully find lyrics pages associated with that particular song.

How to Recover Files From a Corrupted SD Memory Card,Flash drive or hard disk

The loss of data like photographs, songs, videos, documents and applications unexpectedly from a memory card or flash drive can be very painful especially for files which are personal and you have no back up available. Hence, this tutorial would be very useful for flash drive  or memory card recovery.

In fact, there are two main kinds for memory card data loss: logical and physical. Logical failure is usually because of file system corruption, virus attack, accidental  format, deletion of key files, etc. If memory card is still recognized by the system BIOS or disk manager, but data cannot accessed, it is a logical problem leading to memory card data loss. In this situation, card recovery software working with memory card can easily recover lost data. If the system BIOS does not identify the memory card and memory card is inoperative, these are the symptoms of physical failure. You need to send your memory card to local data recovery service to recover files.
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Free Edition is the card free recovery software for memory card used by digital camera. It can effectively recover lost, deleted, corrupted or formatted files from various memory cards. It supports almost all memory card types including Secure Digital Card, Compact Flash Card, xD Picture Card, Memory Stick, Micro Drive, SmartMedia Card, MultiMedia Card, MicroSD Card, MiniSD Card, SDHC, etc.

Step 1. Launch EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard and select the file types you want to recover. Then click "Next" button to move to the next step.
Step 2. Select the drive where you lost your data and click "Scan" button, the software will quickly scan the selected drive to find all your target files. If you lost your partition, select "Lost Disk Drives" and "Scan" to continue the recovery process.
Step 3. After the scan,a preview pane showing  all the recoverable files will be displayed..select  one by one and select out those you want. Then, click "Recover" button to get your files back. Here you should save all the recovered files on your computer.

Do You have an Active Antivirus Software, Firewall or Internet security? Check If Its Working

This post gives you a complete insight on an active antivirus software. These days cybercrimes just keep rising very fast leaving  many digital device  users open to various forms of attack from viruses, malware and so on. These attacks are very bad because they can make the use of our devices very frustrating .When you dont have active antivirus software these viruses get access to our systems via an unsecure internet connection or downloads.Hence, this post is aimed at tackling this security issue firmly.so, just sit back and enjoy it.

                            active antivirus software
At first, it may appear that the simplest way to see if you have an active antivirus software would be to gather up thousands of  crazy viruses, and to set them lose on a network. Then, you can go back and measure the percentage that were blocked in order to determine the effectiveness of your active antivirus software. However, these results are not foolproof since it might fail to expose critical flaws in your security.
Before attempting this kind of test, you must first check to make sure that your network security is actually working. A better way of doing this would be to test just one simple virus, and alter it in various ways to detect specific vulnerabilities.
You can get a benign test virus here. This file shouldn’t hurt your system, but it SHOULD trigger your antivirus.
Now that you have a virus for testing, you’ll also want to set up an external Linux web server, FTP server and email server to deliver the file. In order to truly test the capabilities of your security, you’ll also want to switch between different ports.
For example, you may want to set up web servers on port 80 and 242. And you may want to set up the POP server on port 110 and another on port 23 – which is normally used for Telnet.
Then, try and push the file into your network using different means, and hiding the file in different ways.
  • Try sending it as a simple email attachment.
  • Try compressing the virus into a ZIP file
  • Try making a ZIP file using a ZIP file containing the virus
  • Try to single and double ZIP the virus, and password-protecting it
  • Try unconventional compression formats like RAR or GZIP
  • Try changing the name of the file
  • Try changing the file extension so that it appears to be another type of document (.PDF, .JPG, .PPT)
  • Embed them into a document such as Word or Excel.
If you use your imagination, you could probably come up with a hundred variations. Once you’ve done this, you’re ready to start testing your active antivirus software.
Try emailing the file into your network, and also try sending it out from within your network.  Additionally, you’ll want to try sending it internally from one machine to another.
Post all of these files up on your web servers and FTP servers, and try downloading all of the files.
Set up an online message board on your web server and see if the virus files can be uploaded to the forum as an attachment. Also, try doing the same on your private, intranet if you have one in place.
Try downloading the files from other sources, such as Gmail or any other hosted applications that could potentially be used to distribute viruses.
As you grow your options, you’ll develop a wide matrix of potential vulnerabilities. Keep a spreadsheet of your results in order to spot patterns.
Once you’ve broadly secured your network against a single virus, exhaustively tested in every possible way, you’ll have much more to gain from more advanced testing.
N.B- Always test offline, and never compromise a live, critical system.
